Damp Proofing, Done Properly

Damp comes in several forms, and the right fix depends entirely on the cause. Treat the wrong thing and you waste money while the problem carries on. That’s why every job starts with a proper survey — then we carry out only the work your property genuinely needs.

Rising Damp Treatment

Genuine rising damp — moisture drawn up through the wall from the ground — is far less common than the industry suggests, but when it’s real it needs a proper remedy. We install replacement damp-proof courses by injection and replaster with salt-resistant systems, all guaranteed. Read more about rising damp →

Penetrating Damp

Water getting in through the building fabric: failed pointing, cracked render, leaking gutters or downpipes, or bridged cavities. Often the most straightforward damp to cure once the entry point is correctly identified — and frequently mistaken for rising damp by less thorough surveyors.

Condensation & Mould Control

The most common cause of damp in modern, well-sealed homes. Warm, moist air meeting cold surfaces leads to black mould around windows, in corners and behind furniture. We diagnose the cause and recommend practical fixes — improved ventilation, extraction, insulation and environmental changes — rather than treating the symptoms alone.

Basement & Cellar Tanking

Waterproofing below-ground spaces with cementitious tanking or cavity-drain membrane systems, turning damp cellars into dry, usable rooms. Read more about basement tanking →

Timber Treatment

Damp and timber problems go hand in hand. We treat woodworm (wood-boring beetle), wet rot and dry rot, tackling both the outbreak and the underlying moisture that caused it — because timber decay is a symptom of a damp problem that also needs solving.

Period or listed property?

Solid-walled and historic buildings need breathable repairs — lime plaster and render rather than cement or chemical injection. For heritage work, see our sister company Severn Lime.
